Institute of Materials for Energy and Environment (IMEE) of Qingdao University was officially launched in March 2015. IMEE strives for excellence in fundamental and translational research, education and services.

IMEE currently embraces 18 principal investigators, more than 120 postgraduate students, 2 postdoctoral research fellows and 1 academic visitor. There are 5 labs and 1 center across IMEE, which are the Catalysis and Adsorption Lab, the Electrocatalysis Lab, the Secondary Battery Lab, the Electrochemical Capacitor Lab, the Advanced Materials Lab, and the In-Situ Characterization and DFT Calculation Center.

IMEE is committed to actively participate in national strategic research and development priority areas to address key scientific problems, aiming to deliver innovative and impactful research outcomes on the basis of Shandong Provincial and Qingdao Municipal unique strengths. We encourage scientific explorations and knowledge advances so as to play a leadership role in energy storage materials and sustainable development. IMEE strives for fostering an academic atmosphere to enable young talents, students and collaborators to achieve their career goals.
